The firsthand memories of the Holocaust are dissipating, and we are beginning to rely on multi-generational stories as a substitute for immediate reality.  I am working on a project where I photograph Holocaust survivors and their grandchildren because my grandmother escaped the Holocaust. I focus on the beauty of the lives created by those who survived, with parallels to today’s rise of fascism in the United States.
