Marissa Alper is a photo based artist residing in New York, NY. Her camera acts as a barrier

from interaction but also as a longing to connect to the world. She uses it to remember events

and people while creating something tangible so that others don’t forget her. Interested in the

strength of the female bond, the dynamic of familial relationships, and the aging process,

Marissa explores her experience reconciling with the liminality that encompasses every stage of life.

Inspired by her grandmother who is a Holocaust Survivor, she is currently working on a project about Holocaust Survivors and their grandchildren.
